Synopsis

The remote CentOS host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote CentOS Linux 8 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CESA-2023:6944 advisory.

 - protobuf-c before 1.4.1 has an unsigned integer overflow in parse_required_member. (CVE-2022-48468)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected protobuf-c, protobuf-c-compiler and / or protobuf-c-devel packages.
