The remote CentOS host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote CentOS Linux 8 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CESA-2023:7187 advisory.

- Under some circumstances, this weakness allows a user who has access to run the ps utility on a machine, the ability to write almost unlimited amounts of unfiltered data into the process heap. (CVE-2023-4016)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected procps-ng-devel package.
