Synopsis

The GitLab instance installed on the remote host is affected by an improper access control vulnerability.

Description

The version of GitLab installed on the remote host is between 16.0 prior to 16.3.6, 16.4 prior to 16.4.2 or 16.5 prior to 16.5.1. It is, therefore, affected by an improper access control vulnerability as referenced in the vendor advisory.

- Arbitrary access to the titles of an private specific references could be leaked through the service-desk custom email template. (CVE-2023-5600)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to GitLab version 16.3.6, 16.4.2, 16.5.1 or later.
