Synopsis

The GitLab instance installed on the remote host is affected by an improper access control vulnerability.

Description

The version of GitLab installed on the remote host is between 11.6 prior to 12.9.8, 12.10 prior to 12.10.7 or 13.0 prior to 13.0.1. It is, therefore, affected by an improper access control vulnerability as referenced in the vendor advisory.

- It is possible for an unauthorised project or group member to read the CI/CD variables using the custom project templates. (CVE-2023-3399)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to GitLab version 12.9.8, 12.10.7, 13.0.1 or later.
