Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing a security update for tang.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 9 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2023:6492 advisory.

 - tang: Race condition exists in the key generation and rotation functionality (CVE-2023-1672)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL tang package based on the guidance in RHSA-2023:6492.
