Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of xerces-c installed on the remote host is prior to 3.1.1-10. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2023-2327 advisory.

- An integer overflow in xerces-c++ 3.2.3 in BigFix Platform allows remote attackers to cause out-of-bound access via HTTP request. (CVE-2023-37536)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Run 'yum update xerces-c' to update your system.
