Synopsis

An instance of Puppet Agent installed on the remote system is affected by a deserialization vulnerability.

Description

Utilization of a module presented a security risk by allowing the deserialization of untrusted/user supplied data. This is resolved in the Puppet Agent 7.4.0 release.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Puppet Agent version 7.4.0 or later.
