Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 16.04 ESM host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-4821-1 advisory.

- Openpyxl 2.4.1 resolves external entities by default, which allows remote attackers to conduct XXE attacks via a crafted .xlsx document. (CVE-2017-5992)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected python-openpyxl and / or python3-openpyxl packages.
