Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 16.04 ESM host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-4779-1 advisory.

- The plural form formula in ngettext family of calls in php-gettext before 1.0.12 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. (CVE-2015-8980)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected php-gettext package.
