Synopsis

The remote SUSE host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote SUSE Linux SLES12 / SLES_SAP12 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SUSE-SU-2023:4070-1 advisory.

 - In Exiv2 0.26 and previous versions, PngChunk::readRawProfile in pngchunk_int.cpp may cause a denial of service (application crash due to a heap-based buffer over-read) via a crafted PNG file. (CVE-2018-19535)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected libexiv2-12 and / or libexiv2-devel packages.
