Description

The remote host is affected by the vulnerability described in GLSA-202310-11 (less: Denial of service)

 - In GNU Less before 609, crafted data can result in less -R not filtering ANSI escape sequences sent to the terminal. (CVE-2022-46663)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

All less users should upgrade to the latest version:

 # emerge --sync # emerge --ask --oneshot --verbose >=sys-apps/less-608-r2
