Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux AMI host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of poppler installed on the remote host is prior to 0.26.5-43.25. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS-2023-1823 advisory.

- Buffer Overflow vulnerability in HtmlOutputDev::page in poppler 0.75.0 allows attackers to cause a denial of service. (CVE-2020-18839)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Run 'yum update poppler' to update your system.
