Synopsis

The remote Oracle Linux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Oracle Linux 5 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ELSA-2011-1019 advisory.

 - Integer overflow in libvirt before 0.9.3 allows remote authenticated users to cause a denial of service (libvirtd crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via a crafted VirDomainGetVcpus RPC call that triggers memory corruption. (CVE-2011-2511)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected libvirt, libvirt-devel and / or libvirt-python packages.
