The remote Oracle Linux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Oracle Linux 5 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ELSA-2017-2840 advisory.

- Heap-based buffer overflow in dnsmasq before 2.78 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) or execute arbitrary code via a crafted DNS response. (CVE-2017-14491)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected dnsmasq package.
