Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing a security update for java-1.8.0-ibm.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 8 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2023:4877 advisory.

 - OpenJDK: improper handling of slash characters in URI-to-path conversion (8305312) (CVE-2023-22049)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL java-1.8.0-ibm package based on the guidance in RHSA-2023:4877.
