Golang < 1.19.11 / 1.20.x < 1.20.6 Security Bypass

medium Nessus Plugin ID 178844

Synopsis

An application installed on the remote Windows host is affected by security bypass vulnerability.

Description

The version of Golang Go installed on the remote host is affected by security bypass vulnerability. The HTTP/1 client does not fully validate the contents of the Host header. A maliciously crafted Host header can inject additional headers or entire requests. With fix, the HTTP/1 client now refuses to send requests containing an invalid Request.Host or Request.URL.Host value.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Golang Go version 1.19.11, 1.20.6, or later.
