Synopsis

An application installed on the remote host is affected by an information disclosure vulnerability.

Description

The version of Oracle JDeveloper installed on the remote host is missing a security patch. It is, therefore, affected by an information disclosure vulnerability as referenced in the July 2023 CPU advisory. The vulnerability is in the Oracle JDeveloper product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: ADF Faces (Java HTML Sanitizer)). The supported version that is affected is 12.2.1.4.0. This easily exploitable vulnerability allows an unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Oracle JDeveloper. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all Oracle JDeveloper accessible data.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Apply the appropriate patch according to the July 2023 Oracle Critical Patch Update advisory.
