Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2023 host is missing a security update.

Description

It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2023-2023-249 advisory.

 - The upstream bug report describes this issue as follows:A vulnerability was found in ImageMagick <=7.1.1, where heap-based buffer overflow was found in coders/tiff.c. (CVE-2023-3428) (CVE-2023-3428)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Run 'dnf update ImageMagick --releasever 2023.1.20230719' to update your system.
