Synopsis

A VPN client installed on remote host is affected by a local privilege escalation vulnerability.

Description

The Palo Alto GlobalProtect app installed on the remote host is 5.2.x prior to 5.2.13, 6.0.x prior to 6.0.5 or 6.1.x prior to 6.1.1. Therefore, it is affected by a local privilege escalation vulnerability which enables a local service account or user with token impersonation privileges to execute programs with elevated privileges.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Palo Alto GlobalProtect Agent 5.2.13 / 6.0.5 / 6.1.1 or later
