NoviSurvey Insecure Deserialization Vulnerability (CVE-2023-29492)

critical Nessus Plugin ID 176211

Synopsis

The remote web application is affected by an insecure deserialization vulnerability.

Description

The version of NoviSurvey installed on the remote host is before 8.9.43676. It is therefore vulnerable to a insecure deserialization vulnerability that can allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on the server in the context of the service account. This does not provide access to stored survey or response data.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to NoviSurvey 8.9.43676 or greater
