Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing a security update for wireshark.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 9 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2023:2373 advisory.

- wireshark: f5ethtrailer Infinite loop in legacy style dissector (CVE-2022-3190)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL wireshark package based on the guidance in RHSA-2023:2373.
