The IBM WebSphere Application Server running on the remote host is affected by a man-in-the-middle vulnerability.
IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.5 and 9.0, when configured to communicate with the Web Server Plug-ins for IBM WebSphere Application Server, could allow an authenticated user to conduct spoofing attacks. A man-in-the-middle attacker could exploit this vulnerability using using a certificate issued by a trusted authority to obtain sensitive information.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update to IBM WebSphere Application Server versions 8.5.5.24, 9.0.5.16 or later or apply Interim Fix PH48747.
