Synopsis
The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.Description
The remote Debian 10 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the dla-3397 advisory.- client.c in gdhcp in ConnMan through 1.41 could be used by network-adjacent attackers (operating a crafted DHCP server) to cause a stack-based buffer overflow and denial of service, terminating the connman process. (CVE-2023-28488)
Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
Solution
Upgrade the connman packages.For Debian 10 Buster, this problem has been fixed in version 1.36-2.1~deb10u4.
