The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 22.04 ESM / 22.10 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-6036-1 advisory.

- Patchelf v0.9 was discovered to contain an out-of-bounds read via the function modifyRPath at src/patchelf.cc. (CVE-2022-44940)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected patchelf package.
