Synopsis

A mail client installed on the remote Windows host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of Thunderbird installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 102.9.1. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the mfsa2023-12 advisory.

- Thunderbird users who use the Matrix chat protocol were vulnerable to a denial-of-service attack.
(CVE-2023-28427)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Mozilla Thunderbird version 102.9.1 or later.
