Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of ghostscript installed on the remote host is prior to 9.25-5. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2023-2003 advisory.

- Artifex Ghostscript through 9.26 mishandles .completefont. NOTE: this issue exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2019-3839. (CVE-2019-25059)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Run 'yum update ghostscript' to update your system.
