Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 22.04 LTS / 22.10 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-5908-1 advisory.

- Sudo before 1.9.13p2 has a double free in the per-command chroot feature. (CVE-2023-27320)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected sudo and / or sudo-ldap packages.
