Debian DSA-5364-1 : apr-util - security update

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.


The remote Debian 11 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the dsa-5364 advisory.

- Integer Overflow or Wraparound vulnerability in apr_base64 functions of Apache Portable Runtime Utility (APR-util) allows an attacker to write beyond bounds of a buffer. This issue affects Apache Portable Runtime Utility (APR-util) 1.6.1 and prior versions. (CVE-2022-25147)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.


Upgrade the apr-util packages.

For the stable distribution (bullseye), this problem has been fixed in version 1.6.1-5+deb11u1.
