Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of libgovirt installed on the remote host is prior to 0.3.4-3. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2023-1939 advisory.

- Multiple integer overflow and buffer overflow issues were discovered in spice-client's handling of LZ compressed frames. A malicious server could cause the client to crash or, potentially, execute arbitrary code. (CVE-2018-10893)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Run 'yum update libgovirt' to update your system.
