Synopsis

VMware vRealize Operations running on the remote host is affected by an arbitrary file read vulnerability.

Description

The version of VMware vRealize Operations (vROps) running on the remote host is 8.x prior to 8.10. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability:

- VMware Aria Operations contains an arbitrary file read vulnerability. A malicious actor with administrative privileges may be able to read arbitrary files containing sensitive data. (CVE-2022-31682)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to VMware vRealize Operations Manager version 8.10 or later.
