Description

The version of SolarWinds Serv-U installed on the remote host is prior to 15.3.0. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the serv-u_15_3_2 advisory.

 - Common encryption key appears to be used across all deployed instances of Serv-U FTP Server. Because of this an encrypted value that is exposed to an attacker can be simply recovered to plaintext.
 (CVE-2021-35252)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Serv-U version 15.3.2 or later.
