Synopsis

The remote Fedora host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote Fedora 36 host has a package installed that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the FEDORA-2022-1f2fbb087e advisory.

- Infinite loop in the F5 Ethernet Trailer protocol dissector in Wireshark 3.6.0 to 3.6.7 and 3.4.0 to 3.4.15 allows denial of service via packet injection or crafted capture file (CVE-2022-3190)

- Command injection is possible in the puppetlabs-apt module prior to version 9.0.0. A malicious actor is able to exploit this vulnerability only if they are able to provide unsanitized input to the module. This condition is rare in most deployments of Puppet and Puppet Enterprise. (CVE-2022-3275)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected 1:wireshark package.
