Synopsis

The remote Fedora host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote Fedora 36 host has a package installed that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the FEDORA-2022-8a4e8aa190 advisory.

- Those using Snakeyaml to parse untrusted YAML files may be vulnerable to Denial of Service attacks (DOS).
If the parser is running on user supplied input, an attacker may supply content that causes the parser to crash by stack overflow. This effect may support a denial of service attack. (CVE-2022-41854)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected snakeyaml package.
