Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 16.04 ESM host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-5761-2 advisory.

USN-5761-1 updated ca-certificates. This update provides the corresponding update for Ubuntu 14.04 ESM and Ubuntu 16.04 ESM.

Original advisory details:

Due to security concerns, the TrustCor certificate authority has been

marked as distrusted in Mozilla's root store. This update removes the

TrustCor CA certificates from the ca-certificates package.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected ca-certificates package.
