Synopsis
The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.Description
The version of e2fsprogs installed on the remote host is prior to 1.42.9-19. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2022-1884 advisory.- An out-of-bounds read/write vulnerability was found in e2fsprogs 1.46.5. This issue leads to a segmentation fault and possibly arbitrary code execution via a specially crafted filesystem.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
