Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing a security update for speex.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 9 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2022:7979 advisory.

 - speex: divide by zero in read_samples() via crafted WAV file (CVE-2020-23903)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL speex package based on the guidance in RHSA-2022:7979.
