Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing a security update for mingw-glib2.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 9 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2022:8418 advisory.

- glib: g_file_replace() with G_FILE_CREATE_REPLACE_DESTINATION creates empty target for dangling symlink (CVE-2021-28153)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL mingw-glib2 package based on the guidance in RHSA-2022:8418.
