Description

The remote host is affected by the vulnerability described in GLSA-202210-20 (Nicotine+: Denial of Service)

 - Denial of service (DoS) vulnerability in Nicotine+ 3.0.3 and later allows a user with a modified Soulseek client to crash Nicotine+ by sending a file download request with a file path containing a null character.
 (CVE-2021-45848)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

All Nicotine+ users should upgrade to the latest version:

 # emerge --sync # emerge --ask --oneshot --verbose >=net-p2p/nicotine+-3.2.1
