Description

The remote host is affected by the vulnerability described in GLSA-202210-11 (schroot: Denial of Service)

- Schroot before 1.6.13 had too permissive rules on chroot or session names, allowing a denial of service on the schroot service for all users that may start a schroot session. (CVE-2022-2787)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

All schroot users should upgrade to the latest version:

# emerge --sync # emerge --ask --oneshot --verbose >=dev-util/schroot-1.6.13
