GitLab 13.7 < 15.0.5 / 15.1 < 15.1.4 / 15.2 < 15.2.1 Information Disclosure

medium Nessus Plugin ID 163846

Synopsis

A source control application running on the remote web server is affected by an information disclosure vulnerability.

Description

According to its self-reported version, the instance of GitLab running on the remote web server is 13.7 prior to 15.0.5, 15.1 prior to 15.1.4, or 15.2 prior to 15.2.1. It is, therefore, affected by an information disclosure vulnerability due to an improper access control check. An authenticated, remote attacker can exploit this to view a public project's Deploy Key's public fingerprint and name when that key has write permission.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to GitLab version 15.0.5, 15.1.4, 15.2.1, or later.
