GitLab 9.3 < 15.0.5 / 15.1 < 15.1.4 / 15.2 < 15.2.1 Information Disclosure

medium Nessus Plugin ID 163789

Synopsis

A source control application running on the remote web server is affected by an information disclosure vulnerability.

Description

According to its self-reported version, the instance of GitLab running on the remote web server is 9.3 prior to 15.0.5, 15.1 prior to 15.1.4, or 15.2 prior to 15.2.1. It is, therefore, affected by an information disclosure vulnerability due to improper data handling in the Datadog integration. An authenticated, remote attacker can exploit this to expose contributor emails.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to GitLab version 15.0.5, 15.1.4, 15.2.1, or later.
