F5 Networks BIG-IP : BIG-IP HTTP profile vulnerability (K96924184)

high Nessus Plugin ID 163403

Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

The version of F5 Networks BIG-IP installed on the remote host is prior to 16.1.2 / 17.0.0. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the K96924184 advisory.

- On BIG-IP version 16.1.x before 16.1.2, when an HTTP profile is configured on a virtual server, undisclosed requests can cause the Traffic Management Microkernel (TMM) to terminate. Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated. (CVE-2022-23022)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to one of the non-vulnerable versions listed in the F5 Solution K96924184.
