Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Description

The remote Debian 9 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the dla-3046 advisory.

- A code execution vulnerability exists in the DL_Dxf::handleLWPolylineData functionality of Ribbonsoft dxflib 3.17.0. A specially-crafted .dxf file can lead to a heap buffer overflow. An attacker can provide a malicious file to trigger this vulnerability. (CVE-2021-21897)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the librecad packages.

For Debian 9 Stretch, these problems have been fixed in version 2.1.2-1+deb9u4.
