Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing one or more security updates for openvswitch2.16.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 8 host has a package installed that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the RHSA-2022:4788 advisory.

- DPDK: out-of-bounds read/write in vhost_user_set_inflight_fd() may lead to crash (CVE-2021-3839)

- dpdk: sending vhost-user-inflight type messages could lead to DoS (CVE-2022-0669)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL openvswitch2.16 package based on the guidance in RHSA-2022:4788.
