Synopsis

A source control application running on the remote web server is affected by an incorrect authorization vulnerability.

Description

According to its self-reported version, the instance of GitLab running on the remote web server is 9.2 prior to 14.8.6, 14.9.x prior to 14.9.4, or 14.10.x prior to 14.10.1. It is, therefore, affected by the following vulnerability:

- A vulnerability exists in GitLab due to incorrect authorization on scheduled pipelines. An authenticated, remote attacker can exploit this, allowing a malicious user to run a pipeline in the context of another user. (CVE-2022-1460)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to GitLab version 14.8.6, 14.9.4, 14.10.1 or later.
