The remote CentOS host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote CentOS Linux 8 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CESA-2022:2043 advisory.

 - c-ares: Missing input validation of host names may lead to domain hijacking (CVE-2021-3672)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected c-ares and / or c-ares-devel packages.
