Synopsis

The version of GitLab installed on the remote host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of GitLab installed on the remote host is affected by a vulnerability, as follows:

 - Improper validation of ipynb files in GitLab CE/EE version 13.5 and above allows an attacker to execute arbitrary JavaScript code on the victim's behalf. (CVE-2021-39906)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to GitLab version 14.2.6, 14.3.4, 14.4.1 or later.
