RHEL 7 / 8 : OpenShift Container Platform 4.7.45 packages and (RHSA-2022:0870)

high Nessus Plugin ID 159168

Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 7 / 8 host has a package installed that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the RHSA-2022:0870 advisory.

- cri-o: pod with access to 'hostIPC' and 'hostNetwork' kernel namespace allows sysctl from the list of safe sysctls to be applied to the host (CVE-2022-0532)

- CRI-O: Arbitrary code execution in cri-o via abusing kernel.core_pattern kernel parameter (CVE-2022-0811)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected cri-o package.
