Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of expat installed on the remote host is prior to 2.1.0-12. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2022-1759 advisory.

 - In Expat (aka libexpat) before 2.4.5, there is an integer overflow in storeRawNames. (CVE-2022-25315)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Run 'yum update expat' to update your system.
