Synopsis

An anti-virus application uses a static credential.

Description

The Trend Micro ServerProtect Information Server running on the remote host uses a static credential to perform authentication when console type 1 is specified in the console registration request. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this, via a specially crafted message, to register to the server and perform authenticated actions.

Solution

Update affected installations in accordance with the vendor advisory.
